Reckless Disregard and Other Stories

Forthcoming from Main Street Rag Publishing Company

Reckless Disregard and Other Stories is a collection of fifteen stories ranging from short shorts to the title novella. Although several deal with loss and regret, the collection is not without touches of romance and humor.

Excerpt

From "When Carol Left Me":

It was like a secret to be cherished—the knowledge that there was another place that was not home, but where my heart was engaged. It was the same way when we first met, when she still lived with a roommate several blocks away, and I didn't see her sometimes for days. I knew she was there, in that special, separate, unfamiliar place I yearned toward every night in my solitary bed. Now it was solitary again, and if I couldn't sleep I would no doubt be yearning again. I had not expected her leaving me to feel so much like our courtship.

Advance Praise

"This is a book that touches those real places in the soul we don't want to think about, and the stories Linda Griffin wrote to accomplish that are genius. They hit the 'home' we don't want to face. Very creative and poignant."

~ Colleen L. Donnelly, author of I Have a Story

Humans: the only species with the ability to think, question, communicate in many languages and in many ways is the one with "higher intelligence." Or is the species merely comprised of inept creatures who make a lot of bonehead decisions but have a highly inflated view of themselves? Reckless Disregard and Other Stories is an entertaining mix of vignettes that tackles that question.
